At the outer limits of pop music!

The Beautybag is a collection of travel notes, a double bottom suitcase, a forgotten diary, endless love serenades and shameless gossip.

The band is led by singer / songwriter Richard Nygård. He studied visual arts at the art college in Oslo, and during a study stay in Antwerp he decided to specialize in composition and lyrics. After this he has performed with his band in strange places like jazz cafes, white-painted art galleries to dark pubs.

The Beautybag has a strong focus on atmospheric sounds and polyphonic singing. Rhythmically the band is a mix between Americana and acoustic pop. The Beautybag is currently working in the studio with an album to be released in February 2012, by the independent record label OffTheRecords.

All songs are written by Richard Nygaard, and arranged by The Beautybag.

På den ytre grensen til popmusikk

The Beautybag en samling med reisenotater, en koffert med dobbeltbunn, en gjenglemt dagbok, endeløse kjærlighetsserenader og skamløst sladder.

Bandet ledes av singer/songwriter Richard Nygård, utdannet billedkunstner ved kunsthøgskolen i Oslo. Under et studieopphold i Antwerpen bestemte han seg for å fordype seg i komposisjon og lyrikk. Etter dette har han opptrått med bandet sitt på alt i fra jazzcafeer og hvitmalte kunstgallerier til mørke puber.

The Beautybag har et sterkt fokus på stemningsfulle arrangementer og flerstemt sang. Rytmisk beveger bandet seg mellom americana og akustisk pop. The Beautybag arbeider for tiden i studio med et album som skal utgis i februar, 2012. Albumet gis ut av det uavhengige plateselskapet OffTheRecords.
